Today, Hon. (Dr.) Adeyemi Olayemi, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Ondo State on Environment, represented His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, at the inauguration of the National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers Employers of Nigeria (NASWADEN), Ondo State Chapter.
In his speech, Hon. Olayemi highlighted the importance of the waste management and recycling industries in creating a sustainable economy and preserving the environment. He praised the formation of NASWADEN, which formalizes the scrap and metal waste business, a key industry in Ondo State’s economic development.
Hon. Olayemi also reiterated Ondo State’s commitment to supporting the recycling industry through policies, grants, and public-private partnerships. He emphasized that the state is positioning itself as a leader in waste management and recycling, with the establishment of industrial zones and recycling hubs.
The Special Adviser urged NASWADEN to work closely with the state government, adopt environmentally responsible practices, and continue advocating for policies that elevate the industry.
