Court bars Wike and others from a disputed Abuja land as legal proceedings over ownership rights continue.
An Abuja High Court has issued an interim injunction preventing the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and others from selling a specific piece of land.
This property is situated at Plot No. 4411, Cadastral Zone A09, Guzape District, Abuja. The order was granted by Justice Mohammed Zubairu following an ex-parte motion presented by the applicant’s counsel, Reuben Atabo, SAN.
Although the motion, designated as M/16807/2024, was filed on Monday, its certified true copy was provided to NAN on Tuesday.
Justice Zubairu, serving as a vacation judge, expressed his inclination to grant the application in the interest of justice and fair hearing.
The interim injunction will remain in effect for a few days until all parties are notified and can appear for the hearing of the motion on notice.
Consequently, the order prohibits the defendants and their agents from trespassing or interfering with the claimant’s exclusive possession of the property, remaining in place until the motion is heard and resolved. Additionally, the court granted the subsequent prayers as requested.
