The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of assets linked to former CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele, including a warehouse on 1.925 hectares in Ogun State and 54 steel containers, to the Nigerian government.
The EFCC pursued the forfeiture after no claimants came forward, citing laws against proceeds of unlawful activities. Separately, the EFCC secured the forfeiture of a 753-duplex estate in Abuja, the largest asset recovery in its history, intended by Emefiele for sale at N200 million per unit.
These developments highlight significant progress in the anti-corruption agency’s investigations.
