Former Vice President and 2023 PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has stirred reactions after sharing a heartfelt reunion with his primary school classmates during a trip to Jada. In a social media post, Atiku shared a photo of himself alongside Alh. Bello Shuaibu, Alh. Sama’ila Jauro, and Alh. Dahiru Bobbo, his childhood peers from Jada Primary School.
Describing the moment, Atiku wrote, “My recent trip to Jada was yet another opportunity to reconnect with some of my classmates at Jada Primary School.” The reunion was filled with nostalgia, as the group reminisced about their school days.
However, the reunion post also reignited political tensions. Abdul Rasheeth, Atiku’s special adviser on media, used the moment to take a subtle swipe at President Bola Tinubu, referencing the lingering controversy surrounding Tinubu’s academic records. In a cryptic statement, Rasheeth remarked, “It is quite improbable that you will find yourself devoid of classmates, coursemates, or family members—unless your existence is steeped in secrecy and deception.”
Rasheeth also highlighted the importance of community and transparency, saying, “Recently, Atiku Abubakar welcomed a group of his former classmates to the historic grounds of Jada Primary School, a gathering filled with laughter and shared memories.”
The comment alludes to the ongoing scrutiny of Tinubu’s educational background, an issue that gained traction during the 2023 presidential election. Critics, including Atiku, have repeatedly called for proof of Tinubu’s academic claims, keeping the topic alive in political discourse.
