Afe Babalola acknowledges the Federal Government’s initiative in 2024, calling it an unparalleled gift to the nation.
Renowned lawyer Afe Babalola (SAN) has hailed the Federal Government’s endorsement of an agro-allied cargo airport in Ekiti as a significant milestone for the state in the year 2024.
According to PlatinumPost, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has recently issued a license to the Ekiti state government, allowing non-scheduled flight operations at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport for a six-month period, from December 13, 2024, to June 15, 2025.
Babalola expressed his gratitude after receiving a letter of appreciation from Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his contributions to the airport project during a meeting in Ado-Ekiti.
He emphasized that this development marks a promising start and reflected on how, had conditions been more favorable three years prior, Ekiti’s current status could have been vastly improved.
He commended the governor for his dedication to the project, highlighting the critical role of a robust transportation system in a state’s progress.
Babalola noted that the lack of adequate infrastructure had deterred potential investors, but with the airport’s establishment, he anticipates a positive transformation that will create job opportunities and stimulate local commerce.
He assured the governor of the community’s support in making Ekiti a leading and secure state.
