The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, has tasked stakeholders to compliment state government efforts towards education for all.
She stated this while distributing school uniforms, shoes, and bags to pupils of Government Primary School, Salti, in Numan Local Government Area.
During the event on Tuesday, Professor Farauta called on traditional rulers and key stakeholders to take ownership of schools within their communities to ensure effective teaching and learning.
Her visit to Salti aimed to highlight the importance of education and mobilize support for children’s educational pursuits. The distribution of the school kits, donated by the Numan community, also marked the launch of an enrolment drive for the school.
The deputy governor emphasised the administration’s commitment to improving education under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s leadership. She pointed out how education has transformed lives and urged parents to ensure their children are not deprived of this vital asset.
Speaking at the event, community stakeholders, including Irene Hamadu, praised the state’s free education policy and initiatives such as the payment of WAEC and NECO fees and scholarships. They described education as a critical tool for shaping the future of children and called on parents to embrace these opportunities by enrolling their wards in school.
The stakeholders expressed hope that the distributed items would motivate pupils, teachers, and parents alike, fostering a collective effort to enhance education in the community.
