Former Senator Dino Melaye has shared his reaction to the recent court decision involving Yahaya Bello, the ex-governor of Kogi State.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court has ordered Bello to be kept in Kuje Correctional Centre while his bail application is reviewed.
The case revolves around allegations of money laundering, Bello is accused by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of mismanaging N110 billion during his time in office.
Justice Maryann Anenih, presiding over the case, announced that the court would resume hearings on January 29 and 30, as well as February 25 and 27, 2024.
Dino Melaye expressed his views after the court’s decision stating that he had foreseen this outcome years ago.
He referred to a prediction he made six years ago, claiming that Bello would eventually face imprisonment and highlighted his belief in divine justice.
“6 years ago, SDM predicted Yahaya Bello would end up in prison. Today, he will be spending Christmas in Kuje prison. All powers belong to God,” he said.
