On Monday, social media commentator Martins Ortse, known as VeryDarkMan, criticized the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, labeling him as “incompetent.”
VeryDarkMan pointed to Olukoyede’s failure to apprehend former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, who has been on the EFCC’s wanted list since April, as evidence of this incompetence.
The EFCC has charged Bello with alleged money laundering involving N80.2 billion during his tenure as governor, yet despite being declared wanted, he reportedly surrendered to the agency and was subsequently released.
