The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has stopped importing refined petroleum products and now sources fuel exclusively from domestic refineries.
-NNPC now relies on local refineries, including the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, for its fuel supply, according to NNPC GCEO Mele Kyari.
-Kyari rejected accusations that NNPC is sabotaging local refineries by not supporting them, stating that NNPC is a part-owner of the Dangote refinery.
-Kyari explained that the decision to supply crude to domestic refineries, including Dangote, was a strategic business move, recognizing the growing global competition for oil markets.
-NNPC is committed to supplying crude to domestic refineries, and Kyari emphasized that this decision was made from the outset, without external pressure.
