-The Federal Government has brought in aviation experts from the U.S. and France to help investigate the helicopter crash due to the aircraft and engine origins.
-After an intensive search, the Sikorsky SK76 helicopter wreckage, which crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on October 24, was successfully recovered and transported to Abuja.
-The National Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) will lead a comprehensive investigation, examining maintenance, certification, crew records, and the flight recorder (“black box”), which has already arrived in Abuja.
-The NSIB, alongside the U.S. NTSB, has initiated a family assistance program to support the families of the victims.
-Minister Festus Keyamo announced that an initial investigation report would be published within 30 days, with a complete report potentially taking a year or more.
