In a bold and unique offering, Florida-based cruise company Villa Vie Residences has launched the Tour La Vie program, allowing Americans to spend up to four years traveling the world while avoiding the political turbulence of President-elect Donald Trump’s second term.
The Villa Vie Odyssey will take passengers on an extraordinary journey, visiting over 140 countries with options ranging from a one-year “Escape from Reality” to a four-year “Skip Forward” trip. Guests will sail through destinations such as the Caribbean, South America, the Chilean Fjords, and even past Antarctica, all while enjoying luxurious amenities, including all meals, drinks (at dinner), WiFi, and regular housekeeping.
Prices start at $40,000 per year, with full four-year trips priced at $256,000 for single occupancy and $320,000 for double occupancy. Notably, the cruise also offers a way for passengers to participate in U.S. elections—mail-in ballots will be sent to the ship for those voting in the 2026 midterms or the 2028 presidential election.
CEO Mikael Petterson emphasized that the campaign was not politically driven, but rather aimed at offering a unique escape for those who may feel “threatened” by the political climate. The cruise promises to provide a peaceful getaway, away from the political debates, allowing travelers to relax and experience the world.
Since the announcement on November 7, Villa Vie has reported a huge uptick in interest, as many Americans look for a getaway that’s as much about exploration as it is about avoiding the next political chapter.
