-U.S. AFRICOM Commander, General Michael Langley, visited Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
-Langley, accompanied by U.S. Ambassador Richard Mills, praised Nigeria’s strategies in addressing insecurity and acknowledged its leadership role within West Africa.
-Langley congratulated General Musa on his recent appointment as Chairman of the ECOWAS Committee of Chiefs of Defence Staff.
-General Musa requested U.S. support for weapon procurement, along with enhanced training, intelligence sharing, and defense collaboration.
-Musa assured AFRICOM of Nigeria’s commitment to cooperating with neighboring nations to eliminate terrorism and crime in the sub-region.
