On 4th July, 2024. Barely four months ago, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria appointed Kayode Ojo as Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council , Federal University, Oye Ekiti and ever since he got the appointment, the arrogant ambassador of Ikoro has turned himself to Governor of Oye Ekiti . He became a terror to the Vice Chancellor, Prof Fashina and started usurping all the powers of the Vice Chancellor and Management of the University.
His first assignment was to hijack an office and ordered the Vice Chancellor to release the sum of #57 million to furnish his office at FUOYE claiming that he will be resuming everyday to his office against his “plan to make FUOYE Africa’s best Varsity”
The Ikoro Ambassador needed to be well tutored to understudy the roles and responsibilities of Pro- Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council so that he won’t take his arrogant and uncultured attitude to Lokoja because the EBIRA people are no nonsense tribes.
God only used this little position to expose his level of literacy and maturity. He had already called the Vice Chancellor to a meeting warning him that he would now be in charge of Contract Award in the University which is against the procurement law.
He took over the powers of the Vice Chancellor and started appointing undeserved people as Directors, threatening the Vice Chancellor everyday while dropping the name of the Minister representing Ekiti State in Abuja to perpetrate evils.
Unfortunately, some of the Obas in the Northern Senatorial District were deceived with juicy contracts if they support his gubernatorial ambition in Ekiti State, while less than four months in office he has destroyed the University bus using it to transport his thugs everywhere.
Within the space of few months, he has caused a lot of division and damages to the University, influencing Union elections just to satisfy his ego. In less than four months in office, He has called the meeting of the Governing Council four times and reduced their functions to replace that of the Management and even said that he will be reporting to the University campus daily.

Ekiti people would have been deceived for this scam call “KO” but God in his infinite mercy exposed him to the people of Ekiti with little position.
The President got his report and wanted to remove him completely but the intervention of influential Ekitis closer to power gave him a soft landing because the Minister representing Ekiti State was bittered that he was dropping his name all around and the gift he sent to the State was used to malign his office by claiming that he sent it. The Minister has warned him to stay away from his environ claiming that he should first go and contest for Class Governor before thinking of an House of Assembly.
