President Tinubu has approved a Pro-Chancellor exchange between two federal universities. Discover the institutions involved and the reasons behind this decision.”
In an effort to enhance diversity and bolster national unity within Nigeria’s university administration, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sanctioned the immediate exchange of pro-chancellors and chairmen of governing councils at two federal universities.
As stated by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, formerly the Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, will now assume the role at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti.
Meanwhile, Engineer Kayode Ojo, who previously served at Oye-Ekiti, will take over the position at Lokoja.
This strategic reshuffling is part of President Tinubu’s broader initiative aimed at fostering diversity and enhancing national cohesion in the governance of the nation’s universities, with the leadership changes anticipated to encourage collaborative growth and improve governance in federal institutions.
