The Dallas Police Department responded to the shooting at around 9:48 p.m. at 8000 Herb Keller Way. The flight had 99 people aboard when the incident occurred, as reported by a police source.
Southwest Airlines confirmed that Flight 2494 was struck by a bullet on the right side of the aircraft while preparing for departure from Dallas Love Field to Indianapolis.
The airline reported that no injuries occurred among the passengers or crew despite the bullet strike. After the gunfire hit the plane, Flight 2494 taxied safely back to the terminal.
Southwest Airlines assured that passengers would be accommodated on another flight to their destination. The Dallas Police Department is continuing its investigation into the shooting incident.
