Sling TV will raise its prices by $5.99 per month on its individual Sling Orange, Blue, and combined Orange + Blue plans, starting on or after December 20.
This price hike follows a $5 increase in March 2023, bringing the individual Sling Orange and Blue plans to $46 per month before additional fees.
The Orange + Blue combo plan will now start at $61 per month. The company attributes the increase to rising industry-wide costs, noting that other leading streaming providers have also raised their prices in 2024.
Despite these changes, Sling TV claims it remains the most affordable option, with offerings priced more than $20 below its competitors.
In addition to the price hike, Sling offers a variety of channel packages.
The Sling Blue plan includes 46 channels, such as local ABC, Fox, and NBC stations, while Sling Orange provides 35 channels, including Disney Channel and ESPN. Sling Blue allows streaming on up to three devices simultaneously, while Sling Orange is limited to one.
The Orange + Blue plan combines all 46 channels. The price increase comes amid broader changes in the streaming and satellite TV landscape, as EchoStar, Sling TV’s parent company, recently saw a decline in pay TV subscribers but added 145,000 Sling TV subscribers during Q3 2024.
The company continues to pursue financing options despite the scrapped deal with DirecTV to acquire its streaming services.
