IPOB lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor calls for urgent measures to restore peace and stability in Igboland.
The legal representative of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has urged the South-East community to enhance their efforts in restoring tranquility in Igboland.
In a statement released to the media in Owerri on Monday, Ejiofor’s comments followed the recent arrest of Simon Ekpa, who claims to be the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government-in-Exile.
He emphasized that deceit and criminality ultimately have a limited lifespan, asserting that the truth will inevitably prevail.
Ejiofor cautioned those still adhering to unfounded declarations made in December, predicting that the month would pass without incident.
He reflected on past instances where exaggerated claims were made for personal gain, warning that many had been misled.
He called for introspection among those who feel deceived and advocated for the restoration of peace, allowing the guardians of Igbo culture to seek reconciliation for past wrongs.
He acknowledged the marginalization of the Igbo people within Nigeria’s political landscape and insisted that genuine liberation efforts must renounce violence and deceit, as true freedom cannot be achieved through such means.
