In a bid to empower Youth and Women with practical skills for sustainable livelihoods, Senator Adeniyi Ayodele Adegbonmire SAN, representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, has facilitated a comprehensive skill acquisition training program.
Organized by the National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services (NAERLS), the initiative targets youth and women from the Ondo Central Senatorial District, Ondo State, providing them with essential skills to enhance self-employment opportunities and economic growth.
The training program aims to equip participants with valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in agricultural and related fields, positioning them for success in today’s challenging job market. With agriculture playing a vital role in the Nigerian economy, this initiative aligns with the federal government’s vision of reducing youth unemployment and encouraging self-sufficiency.
Speaking on the importance of the initiative, Senator Adegbonmire SAN expressed his commitment to supporting the youth through meaningful training programs that prepare them for a prosperous future.
“Our youth and women are the heartbeat of our future, and it’s essential to provide them with opportunities that foster self-reliance and economic independence,” Senator Adegbonmire said. “This training program is one of many steps we’re taking to ensure our graduates are equipped with practical skills to succeed in the agricultural sector and beyond.”
The skill acquisition training is expected to provide participants with insights into modern farming techniques, entrepreneurship, and effective business management, thus enabling them to contribute positively to the community and the nation at large.
The event is scheduled for the 1st week of November, 2024 in Akure, Ondo State.
