Roman Goddess speaks out on social judgments of women with bold styles, urging people to look beyond appearances. Learn more about her message
Nigerian Instagram personality Roman Goddess has ignited discussions on social media with her recent remarks regarding stereotypes related to women’s appearances.
Her comments were prompted by a viral video featuring Baltasar Engonga, the Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency in Equatorial Guinea, who was arrested for allegedly recording over 400 explicit videos of the wives of prominent individuals in the country.
This scandal surfaced during a fraud investigation that led to an unannounced search of Engonga’s residence and office, where officials discovered numerous CDs revealing his encounters with various married women.
Roman Goddess emphasized that the women depicted in the video were modestly attired, challenging the prevalent notion that appearance dictates character.
She remarked, “All I’ve seen in these videos are women who are well-covered. No tattoos, no wild looks, just innocent, decent-looking women.
But you all are always too quick to judge the wild-looking ones, the ones with tattoos. The ones that love partying.
Well, keep judging by looks. Innocent women do the most, especially those that cover up.”
