A robotic dog has been spotted patrolling the perimeter of Mar-a-Lago after Donald Trump’s resounding election night win.
The president-elect has been celebrating the outcome of the vote inside the Florida estate, where he waited out the vote count with his family and closest advisors.
Boats from the US Coast Guard are also patrolling the waterways near the property.
The Secret Service announced in a statement to Newsweek that security measures would be ramped up for Trump in the wake of his win on November 5.
While Trump was already receiving increased security protection after surviving two assassination attempts during the campaign, that will ramp up again between now and his inauguration.
Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi told the publication: ‘The President-elect has been receiving heightened Secret Service protection and this level of security will be maintained moving forward.
‘While we cannot share specific details to ensure the integrity of our operations, family members and executive staff of the President-elect may also be afforded protection in accordance with federal law.’
He specifically noted security measures were ramping up in Palm Beach County, Florida, where Mar-a-Lago is located.
‘Enhanced security measures around Palm Beach County, Florida and New York city are also being coordinated. The Secret Service is committed to working with local partners in these cities to keep the community informed about any potential impacts to the public,’ he said.
The black and white robotic dog seen patroling on Friday appeared to have a camera attached to surveil the area.
It pranced along the water’s edge in footage which has since gone viral online.
On Friday afternoon, the Justice Department revealed that there was yet another plot to kill the President-elect during his campaign, unsealing criminal charges for three people.
Three people were charged in the alleged Iran-backed murder-for-hire plot on Trump’s life before the election.
The criminal complaint filed in Manhattan on Friday alleges an unnamed official in the Iranian paramilitary Revolutionary Guard instructed a contact in September to put together a plan to surveil and kill Trump, according to the Associated Press.
