Dino Melaye criticizes PDP’s Damagun, stating he will soon be taught basic political lessons as the crisis in the party deepens.
Former Kogi Central Senator Dino Melaye remarked on Monday that Umar Damagum, the acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), along with his benefactors, will soon receive a fundamental lesson in politics.
Melaye emphasized that Damagum has not yet grasped the critical insights from previous primary elections conducted in Port Harcourt and Abuja. In a post on X, he stated that it is premature to ascertain the outcome of the current political situation, referencing the lessons that remain unlearned from those past events.
The PDP has faced ongoing leadership turmoil following the ousting of former acting National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu.
Recently, a faction within the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) suspended Damagum, along with National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba and National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade.
Nevertheless, the Abuja Federal High Court has intervened, prohibiting the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the PDP’s Board of Trustees (BoT) from dismissing Damagum, mandating that he remains the recognized acting National Chairman until the party’s national convention set for December of next year.
