Pastor Giwa urges ministers to remain committed to their marriages, reminding them that there is no marriage in heaven and divorce should be avoided.
The Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ’s Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has advised pastors who entered ministry after marrying multiple wives to refrain from divorce.
Giwa emphasized that such clergymen should retain all their wives, citing the absence of marriage in heaven.
During a press conference held at his church in Akure, Ondo State, he dismissed the concept of restitution as presented in the Bible.
He referenced a biblical account where Jesus discussed a woman who had multiple husbands, underscoring that in heaven, marriage does not exist.
Giwa stated that if a pastor has married more than one wife prior to their calling, they must uphold those marriages, as divine perspectives differ from human reasoning.
He illustrated his point with the example of a Juju musician turned pastor who attempted to send away one wife in pursuit of restitution, only to later reconcile with her after the death of his first wife, reinforcing his belief that marriage is not recognized in the afterlife.
