The Osun State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has issued a strong admonition to the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Umar Ganduje, cautioning him against inciting conflict in the Southwest through his recent statements.
During a visit to Akure, Ondo State, following the declaration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the winner of the governorship election, Ganduje expressed optimism about the APC’s prospects in future elections in Oyo and Osun states.
In response, NNPP’s Osun chairman, Tosin Odeyemi, criticized Ganduje’s comments as irresponsible and inappropriate for someone in his position, particularly in light of the economic difficulties currently faced by Nigerians under the APC administration.
Odeyemi emphasized that Ganduje should exhibit more prudent communication, as the prevailing economic conditions would deter voters from supporting the APC.
He asserted that the people of Osun are discerning and value peace, urging all political parties to respect the electoral process.
Furthermore, he challenged Ganduje to demonstrate the APC’s popularity by contesting in his own state, where the NNPP had previously achieved a notable victory over the APC.
