Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has asserted that opposition parties will be largely irrelevant in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for November 16.
He expressed confidence that the achievements of his administration over the past five years, coupled with the caliber of candidates fielded by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), will secure a decisive victory across all 20 local government areas in the state.
Speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Kayode Akinmade, Abiodun emphasized that his administration has transformed the political landscape, allowing opposition parties to function freely without fear of intimidation.
He highlighted that the APC has surpassed its rivals by implementing innovative development strategies rather than resorting to outdated tactics of intimidation.
The governor called on APC members to demonstrate greater dedication and unity to maintain the successes achieved in recent years and to ensure a strong performance in the forthcoming elections.
He stated that the quality of candidates presented by the APC positions the party as the frontrunner, noting that their impactful initiatives have significantly improved the lives of citizens, thereby reinforcing their competitive edge.
