-Ibrahim Idoko, National Vice-Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) North-Central, criticized Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the ‘Obidient Movement,’ for claiming the movement is larger than the Labour Party.
-Tanko suggested that the Obidient Movement might move to another political platform for the 2027 elections if the LP does not align with its values of good governance and accountability.
-Idoko dismissed Tanko’s claims as the remarks of a political opportunist, asserting that the LP has been successful and winning elections for many years, long before the Obidient Movement’s rise.
-Idoko highlighted LP’s history of electoral successes, including the election of governors like Olusegun Mimiko and Alex Otti, as well as National and State Assembly members elected under the LP platform.
-Idoko expressed confidence that under the leadership of Barr. Julius Abure, the LP will continue to grow stronger and emerge victorious in the 2027 elections, with full support from North-Central LP chairmen.
