The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Command has once again reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding Critical National Assets and Infrastructure. In a recent operation, the Command arrested several suspects and seized a truck loaded with stolen scrap metal and other vandalized items during a routine night patrol.
The operation, led by the Command’s intelligence personnel and the Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Department’s tactical team, highlights the Corps’ determination to eliminate vandalism within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Dr. Olusola Odumosu, the FCT Commandant, emphasized the importance of protecting the nation’s infrastructure, which he described as the “common heritage” of all Nigerians. He assured the Federal Government and FCT residents of the Command’s unwavering dedication to combating criminal activities, including vandalism and scavenging, locally referred to as “Babanbola.”
Odumosu declared the FCT a “no-go” area for vandals and criminals, vowing that operations against these elements would continue until their activities are completely eradicated. He called for cooperation from residents and reiterated the Command’s mission to ensure the safety and security of all public properties and individuals within the territory.
This decisive action reflects the NSCDC’s relentless efforts to create a safer environment for residents and deter future criminal activities in Abuja.
