President Bola Tinubu embarks on a state visit to France, focusing on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties with the European nation.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja on Wednesday, November 27, for a three-day official visit to France, following an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron.
The purpose of this visit is to enhance the political, economic, and cultural relations between Nigeria and France, with a particular emphasis on collaboration in vital sectors.
As stated by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu will be accompanied by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for various high-level meetings and events.
On Thursday, they will be welcomed at Les Invalides, a notable French military museum, and subsequently at the Élysée Palace by President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.
The discussions will address significant topics including agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, innovation, and energy transition, with a particular focus on creating opportunities for Nigerian youth through skill development in automation, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
The agenda will also encompass political and diplomatic discussions related to finance, solid minerals, trade and investment, and communication.
Both presidents are expected to engage in a session of the France-Nigeria Business Council, aimed at promoting private-sector collaboration to stimulate economic growth.
Additionally, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will meet with Brigitte Macron to explore initiatives aimed at empowering women, children, and vulnerable populations, highlighting her efforts under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
The visit will culminate in a state dinner hosted by President Macron in honor of the Nigerian delegation, underscoring the significance of the bilateral relationship.
President Tinubu is joined on this journey by senior government officials, highlighting Nigeria’s dedication to enhancing international collaborations and promoting sustainable economic development.
