Oyedepo’s private jet is subject to clearance requirements before flying from its designated airstrip, according to Nigerian authorities.
The Nigerian government has asserted that private aircraft belonging to influential individuals, including Bishop David Oyedepo, the Founder of Living Faith Church, cannot depart from their airstrips without obtaining the necessary clearance from relevant authorities.
This clarification was provided by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, during an interview with Channels TV on Sunday.
It is noteworthy that approximately two months ago, the House of Representatives called for the revocation of airstrip licenses granted to Oyedepo and other private entities due to security concerns related to the ongoing importation of illegal arms by alleged sponsors of terrorism.
Keyamo emphasized that no aircraft or drone can enter or exit Nigeria without prior clearance from the appropriate agency, stating that all flights must first land at an international airport where Customs, immigration, and NDLEA processes are conducted before proceeding to a private airstrip.
