The National Examinations Council (NECO) has approved schools in Equatorial Guinea to participate in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has granted accreditation to additional foreign schools for the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
These newly accredited institutions, located in Niger Republic and Equatorial Guinea, join the existing accredited schools.
Azeez Sani, the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations at NECO, stated that an accreditation team conducted site visits to evaluate the schools’ preparedness for the examinations.
The team assessed various facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and sports facilities, to ensure they met NECO’s standards.
Following a comprehensive evaluation, the schools received full accreditation for both SSCE and BECE.
This expansion reflects NECO’s dedication to enhancing educational quality and assessment beyond Nigeria’s borders.
Furthermore, candidates are currently participating in the ongoing NECO SSCE External in Diffa, Niger Republic, marking the UNHCR School as the first external center for NECO outside Nigeria.
NECO examinations are now available to candidates in several countries, including Benin Republic, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger Republic, Equatorial Guinea, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
