The match, which also featured three other fights, reached a peak of 65 million live concurrent streams, with 38 million of those coming from the U.S. Between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. ET, the fight accounted for 56% of all U.S. TV viewing, according to TVision. The match between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano also set records, averaging 74 million live viewers globally and becoming the most-watched professional womenโs sports event in U.S. history.
Despite experiencing technical glitches for some users, the event became Netflix’s most-watched title for the week, with 46.6 million views from Friday to Sunday. It also topped the viewership charts in 78 countries, including the U.S., the U.K., Brazil, and India, and ranked in the Top 10 in 91 countries. The Paul-Tyson fight also set a commercial distribution record, drawing over 1 million viewers across 6,000 U.S. bars and restaurants. Additionally, the event generated over 1.4 billion social media impressions across Netflix’s global channels, with #PaulTyson trending worldwide. Jake Paul won the fight by unanimous decision after eight rounds.
