What started as a pilot project in Government Technical College,Ijebu-Jesa/Ijeda has grown across the 9 Federal Constituencies of Osun state. Dr. Wole Oke who made a public declaration to support any child within the state to acquire Technical education, he reaffirms this again by paying for enrollment forms of all the new intakes in the 9 nine Technical Colleges across Osun.
Dr. Wole Oke’s vast travel experience has given him insight into promise and opportunities that come with skills, trade and craftsmanship acquired in the Technical College.
This vision that stems from extensive travel and a belief in the transformative power of technical skills, is aimed at reduction of unemployment and fostering job creation.
He has seen what is obtainable in the developed world with skills set and looking at backward integration required of our economy,it becomes imperative to take a path that leads to job creation and drastically reduces unemployment after graduation.
Dr. Wole didn’t stop at the enrollment. He also paid all the levies and fees required of all the Year I students of all the 9 Technical Colleges.
This is in furtherance of his scholarship in Ijebu-Jesa, the Year II and III of the school are also covered in the life-baking endeavours of this uncommon Parliamentarian.
And to put an icing sugar on the cake, the year IIIÂ students will be taking modular examinations this term preparatory to their exit and final examinations next year, leading to Diploma, NTC and NBC. This is embarked upon to pave the way for certifications that will enhance their global competitiveness and career prospects.Â
Acquisition of all these skills and certification will empower these children to compete favourably with their peers across the globe and give them so much routes to take to career development and self-reliance in the future.
There is no better way to develop the world than to support people to seek knowledge, creativity and innovation.
This is a project ,Hon. Oluwole Oke holds dear to his heart. He believes thousand of children being baked in these schools cannot be jobless upon their graduation.Â
The world needs more of job-creators,innovators and inventors, to make it a better place for all to live, Hon. Wole Oke concluded.
