FCT Minister Wike makes a strategic new appointment, aiming to enhance governance and development in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has appointed Mr. James Olayinka as the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, effective immediately.
This decision was announced in a statement issued by Anthony Ogunleye, the Director of Press in the Minister’s office, on Friday evening.
Mr. Olayinka, who possesses over 20 years of expertise in journalism, public relations, and media management, will be responsible for developing communication strategies aimed at enhancing public awareness of government initiatives.
Mr. Olayinka, born on October 1, 1972, in Okemesi, Ekiti State, is a graduate of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism in Lagos, where he earned a diploma in Journalism.
He is married and has children. Prior to this appointment, he served in various capacities, including as the Chief Executive Officer of Our Peoples FM in Ado-Ekiti since 2018, Publisher of Wazobia Reporters Online, and Special Assistant on Public Communications to the Governor of Ekiti State from 2014 to 2018, among other roles.
