EFCC investigation finds no fault with Goje’s daughter regarding the viral naira abuse video, confirming her innocence.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recently released a statement exonerating Mrs. Fauziya Danjuma Goje, the daughter of Senator Danjuma Goje, from any connection to the widely circulated video depicting the extravagant spraying of Naira notes at a wedding, which has drawn significant public criticism.
The EFCC clarified that Mrs. Goje was not featured in the viral footage, which actually captured the wedding of Amina Babagana Zannah and her spouse, Ibrahim Mohammad, a citizen of Niger Republic.
In a statement from EFCC spokesperson Mr. Dele Oyewale, the agency confirmed the identities of the groom and other participants in the incident as Nigerien nationals.
Consequently, the EFCC has summoned those responsible for the currency spraying for questioning, reaffirming its dedication to upholding laws against currency misuse.
The statement emphasized that the commission acted promptly upon noticing the viral video, which showcased the misuse of Naira at the wedding ceremony in Kano on October 24, 2024, and clarified that the incident did not involve Mrs. Goje.
