The Edo State House of Assembly approved a revised supplementary budget of N485 billion for the state government led by Governor Monday Okpebholo on Monday.
According to OBASANJONEWS.COM, the Assembly also screened and confirmed Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole as the new Commissioner for Health during the plenary session.
Speaker Blessing Agbebaku stated that the revised Appropriation Bill would facilitate the continuation of developmental projects initiated by the newly sworn-in governor.
The budget allocates N283.087 billion for capital expenditures and N202.54 billion for recurrent expenditures. OBASANJONEWS.COM further notes that on May 22, 2024, the Assembly had approved a supplementary budget of N409.2 billion for the previous administration of Godwin Obaseki.
This approval came shortly after the House increased the 2024 budget from N321.4 billion to N342.8 billion, marking an increase of N17.5 billion.
Additionally, in August 2024, the House passed a revised supplementary budget of N450 billion presented by Obaseki, just before the governorship election on September 21, 2024.
The newly approved budget of N485 billion by the Okpebholo administration exceeds the previous N450 billion by N36 billion.
