Chidimma Adetshina, the runner-up of Miss Universe, has declared her intention to leave the world of pageantry.
In a recent interview with Silverbird TV, she described her experiences in pageantry as traumatic and cited personal reasons for her departure, along with her plans to return to Nigeria from South Africa.
Adetshina expressed her surprise at finishing in the top two of the Miss Universe competition, stating, “Honestly, I am done. Pageantry was a real traumatic experience for me.”
She emphasized that her feelings were often misunderstood and revealed that she contemplated quitting during the competition. Now, she aims to focus on her personal growth and education.
Following her success as the 1st runner-up, she was subsequently named Miss Universe Africa and Oceania and had previously won Miss Nigeria after stepping back from the Miss South Africa contest amid questions regarding her nationality.
