New Cosmos USA is recalling 26,360 DeNova combination natural gas and carbon monoxide alarms due to a safety issue. The affected alarms may fail to provide proper alerts when there is a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. After detecting natural gas or carbon monoxide, the alarms can enter sleep mode if the alert lasts for less than four minutes, preventing the device from detecting new instances of dangerous gases. This issue poses a serious risk of carbon monoxide poisoning to consumers.
The recall involves DeNova Detect brand combination alarms with model number DD622NCV, which were sold at Loweβs stores and online from December 2023 through July 2024 for $90 to $102. Consumers who have purchased these alarms should register online at denovadetect.com/safetynotice-dd622 to receive a prepaid shipping package and a replacement alarm. In the meantime, they should continue using the recalled alarms until the replacements arrive and return the faulty alarms using the provided shipping package.
