Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for civil servants, set to take effect in December. The approval, announced by his Director-General for Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, follows recommendations from a state committee.
Efforts are underway to reconcile local government finances to ensure a smooth transition to the new wage structure for local government employees. The government urges workers to demonstrate commitment to improved service delivery in return.
