The Office of the Vice-President’s Job Creation and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Secretariat has partnered with music icon Mr. Innocent Idibia (Tuface) to mobilize public support for the MSMEs sector.
The partnership agreement was signed on Friday in Abuja by Tuface and Mr. Tola Adekunle-Johnson, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs.
Adekunle-Johnson explained that Tuface’s role as a brand ambassador for job creation and MSMEs would help drive awareness for key initiatives, including the National MSMEs Awards, the Expanded National MSMEs Clinics, and the Shared Hubs for MSMEs Initiative. The collaboration also aims to promote activities centered around job creation and small business support.
He expressed optimism that Tuface’s influence and reputation in the entertainment industry would encourage greater participation in government programs focused on job creation and entrepreneurship.
“In seeking ways to sustain the momentum of job creation and promote MSMEs, we recognized that the entertainment and creative sectors have a significant impact. Tuface is a well-respected icon, a consistent and creative force, and his involvement will galvanize both public and private sector support for these initiatives,” said Adekunle-Johnson.
In response, Tuface thanked President Tinubu’s administration for its ongoing support for the youth and small businesses. He promised to use his platform to raise awareness about MSMEs, particularly among young Nigerians.
He noted, “This is a great initiative, and I’m excited to be part of it. Many of our youth today face challenges that can lead them astray, but through this partnership, we can provide them with positive opportunities that can transform their lives, their communities, and the country at large.”
Mrs. Sarah Ajayi, Deputy Director at NAFDAC, also praised the partnership, noting that entertainment is a powerful tool for engaging young people. “Having Tuface as our brand ambassador is a fantastic move, as he connects with the youth on a large scale,” she said.
Mr. Chukwuemeka Nwakile, Acting Group Regional Manager at Access Bank, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting youth empowerment and job creation. “At Access Bank, job creation is not just a slogan – it’s something we are fully committed to, and we will continue to actively support government efforts to turn this into tangible action,” he said.
