Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State inspected the ongoing construction project of the Yola town market, which was recently initiated by his administration, on Wednesday.
In an interview with reporters following the inspection, Governor Fintiri expressed his contentment with the progress of the project, emphasizing its positive impact on commerce and trade in Yola.
The modern market is being designed to include various facilities such as shops, warehouses, fire-fighting equipment, banks, and a police station. With significant progress achieved within six weeks, the contractors are on track to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.
Governor Fintiri reassured the traders that their shops would be preserved, honouring his commitment to them. Upon completion, the market is expected to house 956 shops, creating opportunities for young individuals and entrepreneurs.
Governor Umaru Fintiri, accompanied by government officials, was guided through the construction site by the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Doctor Ishaya Dabari.
