Doyin Okupe opens up about his reasons for withdrawing support from Peter Obi. Discover what led to his change of heart.
Doyin Okupe, who previously served as the Director-General of Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign council, stated that he would no longer support the former governor of Anambra State.
Okupe recently mentioned that those criticizing and insulting him for backing President Bola Tinubu’s economic recovery plan lack understanding.
Okupe, who previously served as a Presidential Spokesperson, announced this during his appearance on Channel Television’s “Politics Today” program on Monday.
Before the 2023 general election, Okupe was aligned with Peter Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State.

Baba Adebanjo reached out to me and asked, if a President from the South is to be chosen, which zone should they come from? I replied that it should be the Southeast. Let’s support them.
“All prominent Yoruba individuals backed you, so why publicly undermine us now? It’s not right.”
