New information has surfaced in the investigation into Liam Payne’s death, revealing disturbing details. Police reportedly obtained CCTV footage showing multiple exchanges between a known drug dealer and a hotel employee before Payne’s death.
Investigators are now exploring whether the employee may have provided Payne with drugs, as sources claim police have ruled out suicide or intentional self-harm as causes of his death.
CCTV footage also showed Payne asleep twice in the hotel lobby with a whiskey bottle, and an autopsy report noted he had a mix of substances in his system, including cocaine, benzodiazepine, and “pink cocaine,” a combination of several drugs. In addition, an improvised drug pipe was found in his room, raising further questions about the circumstances surrounding his final hours.
Police have also noted the presence of two female escorts at the hotel prior to Payne’s death, whom he reportedly attempted to pay $5,000 through an app but did not complete the transaction. A Rolex was reported missing from his room, though it is unclear if it is linked to the investigation.
Payne’s father, Geoff, has been in Buenos Aires since Oct. 18, working with British embassy officials to bring his son’s body back to England, pending court approval. Emergency services were called to the hotel on Oct. 16 after Payne was reported to be acting erratically; he was later found dead in the hotel courtyard, with injuries consistent with a fatal fall from the third floor.
Following a preliminary autopsy that confirmed multiple traumas and extensive injuries, Argentinian officials raided the hotel on Oct. 23, as they continued to probe the circumstances of Payne’s tragic death.
