In line with the strike action threat issued to the Abia State Government earlier, members of the Abia State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria , JUSUN, have commenced their scheduled industrial action.
All offices in the State’s Judiciary including, High Courts, Customary Court of Appeal, Magistrate Courts and the Judiciary service commission are under lock and key.
According to reports, the Leadership of the Union ensured that Court premises in all the Local Government Areas complied fully making it impossible for those needing the services of this all important arm of Government to be in a serious dilemma.
The willing workers stayed away from their offices, while the leadership of JUSUN formally moved round to endure that the action approved by the National secretariat of the Union does not experience any hitch.
The Abia State branch of JUSUN embarked on this action to press home their demands on their welfare including the implementation of the new minimum wage.
There are expectations that the State Government would soon react to this development.
