-The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of planning violence and thuggery before and during the November 16 governorship election, claiming the APC has set up centers to harbor thugs.
-The APC, through its Director of Media and Publicity, Steve Otaloro, denied the PDP’s allegations, labeling them as baseless and a distraction from the PDP’s electoral preparations.
-The PDP expressed concern over the appointment of Chief Tunji Adeleye as head of a security committee, alleging that it was an attempt to politicize the Amotekun Corps for the APC’s advantage during the elections.
-The PDP urged security agencies to investigate the alleged plans for violence, including claims of the APC using fake policemen to intimidate PDP members.
-Otaloro emphasized that the APC’s campaign is centered on issues rather than misinformation, asserting that their administration has fulfilled its promises and is committed to continuing development in Ondo State.
