Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, continues to make uncommon impacts in the President Bola Tinubu team as he has donated some 80 cars to youths in Abuja.
The brand new cars, which were given free, are to be used as taxis at reduced costs.
The gesture is part of a N10bn special intervention fund Wike has secured from Tinubu.
According to him, he has not only got approval for the money but it has also been released.
The development, observers will note, further separates Wike from the club of many non-performing ministers bearing in mind the infrastructural regeneration he has recorded.
While the likes of Dele Alake and Olubunmi Ojo have also been impactful, the general feeling is that if other ministers are as aggressive as Wike, the country would have recorded some meaningful growth in the past one and half years.
Speaking at the FCT Renewed Hope Youth Empowerment Programme in Abuja on Thursday, Wike said, “They are not paying a dime. No, the government is saying this is our support to feed your family and reduce the cost of transportation in the city… Abuja should compete with other cities in the world.”
