Owo High School marks 61st anniversary, unveils N26m new school gatehouse by old students association
A secondary school in Owo, Ondo State, Owo High School, has announced the commissioning of its new school gatehouse, costing N26m, a year afterĀ commissioning over N400M projects to mark its 60th anniversary by various sets of its alumni.
The National President of its Old Students’ Association, Dr. Foluso Falaye made this known.
The school was founded in January 1963 by Michael Adekunle Ajasin, a native and former administrative head of the state.
In a statement released to our heritage reporter, by the National Public Relations Officer of alummi, Prince Samuel Aladetuyi,Ā he disclosed that the anniversary is scheduled to be held between November 7, 8 and 10, with various activities.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in the state is expected to unveil the new school gatehouse on Thursday, November 7 by 9am, followed by a career talk at the school field.
On Friday, November 8, medical outreach, including health talk, check-ups, and free medical drugs, would be provided for old students and the public between 9 am and 4 pm at the school’s ICT resource centre.
The anniversary ends on Sunday, November 10, with thanksgiving at The Cathedral Church of St. Andrew, Imola at 10 am.
The old students of the citadel enjoined the public to be a part of this feat and celebration, as part of its growth in the last 6 decades.
