The Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council (JCC) Ondo, Comrade Oluwarotimi Tobiloba Joshua (JOSH), has expressed deep gratitude to the Controller of the Ondo/Ekiti Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Morenikeji Bewaji, for her motherly care and proactive approach in organizing a Free Eye Test for Nigerian students.
In his appreciation, Comrade JOSH, who was represented at the event by the General Secretary of NANS JCC Ondo, Comrade Ajibola Oluwanishola (AJI), acknowledged the tremendous efforts of the Nigeria Customs Service in promoting the health and well-being of students across the state. He noted that such health initiatives not only demonstrate the agency’s commitment to community service but also provide essential healthcare services to students who may not otherwise have access to these facilities.
Comrade AJI was warmly received by Comptroller Morenikeji Bewaji at the Command Headquarters on Igbatoro Road, Akure. The Comptroller’s hospitality and enthusiasm for supporting student welfare were evident throughout the event. The free eye test initiative featured eye care orientation, glaucoma and cataract screenings, and access to discounted eyewear, further highlighting the Customs Service’s dedication to ensuring better eye health for students.
Comrade JOSH praised the Comptroller and her team for their thoughtful leadership, stating, “The Nigeria Customs Service, through this initiative, has shown that they care not just about protecting our borders but also about the health of our youth. We deeply appreciate Comptroller Morenikeji Bewaji for extending her support to Nigerian students in this significant way.”
He encouraged students who participated in the program to prioritize their health and take full advantage of the opportunities provided by such valuable initiatives. He further expressed hope that this partnership between NANS JCC Ondo and the Nigeria Customs Service will continue to flourish for the benefit of all students.
Once again, the Chairman extended his heartfelt thanks to the Nigeria Customs Service for their unwavering support and commitment to student welfare, particularly in the area of healthcare.
