Niger State Government has given the committee comprising Commissioners forย Homeland Security,Transport and Works as well as the representatives of Nigeria Police Force, Federal Road Safety Corps,Department of State Security,Vehicle Inspection Office ,and Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps 48 hours to clear the Lambata- Maje – Dikko road which has continously been causing gridlock for commuters.
The State Government after constituting a joint task force Committee to that effect mandated it to clear all broken down articulated vehicles on the road as well as those parked along the roadside.
Other mandates include provision of alternative routes for smaller vehicles and the paving of way for Salini Construction Company to fix all the bad portions of the road with immediate effect.
The maiden meeting of the Task Force chaired by the
Commissioner for Homeland Security,General Mohammed Bello deliberated on how best to carry out the assignment and consequently swung into action
The Lambata – Maje – Dikko road has for a while now been faced by long hours gridlock resulting from indiscriminate parking of articulated vehicles by the roadside among other traffic violations.
