Nigerian actor and comedian Uncle Buru recently recounted an incident in Asaba, where he turned down a director’s offer of ā¦100,000 to act out a scene that went against his Christian faith.
In his own words:
“One time like that for Asaba, when I don art finish. Na so director rush me go corner. E come say ‘Bru my man, the way you dey keep this your mouth dey talk when you dey art, if I say make I give you one role way you go just bend like say you wan lick t0to for a scene .. e go sell o.'”
Buru responded, “I tell am say if Na play make e stop. Him push further say, ā¦100K dey ground for the offer. I just waka commot, e get somethings wey dey against my Christian faith.”
The actor’s decision to prioritize his faith over financial gain has sparked discussions about the role of religion in the entertainment industry and the importance of maintaining personal values in the face of temptation.
