Officials of the Federal Ministry of Works (FMW), today, October 29, 2024, visited the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), to assess and board selected vehicles that have been earmarked by the Board of Survey.
Speaking during a meeting held at the new Vice-Chancellor’s Office, representatives of the FMW, Engr. Albert Godfrey and Mrs. Funmilayo Adediran said that they would undertake a comprehensive evaluation to determine the condition and value of each vehicle, noting the aim of the assessment to establish whether the vehicles should be retired or retained based on their serviceability and current market value.
Reflecting on his longstanding connection with FUNAAB, Engr. Godfrey said that he has served the University for over 15 years, and assured the team of his commitment to an impartial and thorough evaluation. He highlighted that Mrs. Adediran would function as the Principal Liaison Officer throughout the process, ensuring seamless communication and adherence to federal standards.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, commended Engr. Godfrey’s dedication and appreciated the FMW team’s support. He assured them of FUNAAB’s hospitality and commitment to fostering a collaborative relationship.
Also speaking, the Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga, expressed optimism that the report generated from the evaluation would inform future government decisions regarding vehicle replacements, ultimately enhancing the University’s operational efficiency.
