In a recent statement, Asari Dokubo expressed his dissatisfaction with President Tinubu’s backing of Governor Wike, claiming it undermines stability in Rivers State and escalates political unrest.
Asari Dokubo, a former Niger Delta militant leader, expressed his disappointment with President Bola Tinubu for backing Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, in actions that could destabilize Rivers State.
On Tuesday, during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show program, Dokubo claimed that Tinubu permitted Wike to act recklessly and secure a judgment aimed at disrupting the peace in Rivers State.
The former militant stated that he is not pursuing any personal or self-serving interests from President Tinubu.
He expressed complete disappointment as a stakeholder in Rivers State regarding the current situation there.
He mentioned, “What is happening in Rivers State with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu supporting Nyesom Wike to destabilize and disrupt the peace there?”
As a stakeholder in Rivers State, I’m profoundly disappointed that the president would permit his minister to act recklessly, manipulate judicial outcomes, and intimidate the people of Rivers State. Their apparent agenda seems to be removing Governor Siminalayi Fubara without any consequences.
“I’m telling you that if Fubara is removed, there will be consequences. That’s my point. I’m not speaking about any personal gain; I have no intention of being appointed as a minister.”
